GADGET GANG: MY TOP PICKS FOR THE RETRO AT HEART

GADGETCOVER

Hey you,

Hope you're enjoying your week so far.

I've been busy thinking about my Christmas wishlist and planning some exciting new DIY projects in time for the festive season. I'm going bigger and better this year and I'll literally put my Christmas tree up in November if I can lol.

Anyway, while looking through some cool new stuff that I might want to add to my crimbo list, I came across what I think are some of the coolest freaking gadgets and little home-y things that I', super geeked out about; and I figured that if I love em, you probably will too.

I don't know about you but I've always had a thing for techy things that make things work in a smarter way; or items that remind me of my childhood and the things I used to love when life was a lot simpler. This list is a combination of exactly that and I cannot wait to share them with you!

And it's also worth mentioning that each and every one of these items are retailed by the amazing (and coolest might I add) independent lifestyle & homeware brand for the creative souls like us... yes, obvs it's FIREBOX!

P.s, all items are linked; just click on the images to be taken to the purchase page for the individual item.

MY TOP ITEMS FOR THE RETRO LOVING GADGET GEEK!

I'm kicking off my list with a super functional addition to your room with something that'll make you NEVER get ti'ed of finding out what the weather is like. So if you're sick of the Met Office's weather lies, then this one is for you...

1. THE STORM CLOUD WEATHER PREDICTOR  £29.99

The next little number is all kinds of me, and will be making its way into my living room very soon...

2. BRIGHT PINK BOOBY CANDLE
£14.99 (currently on sale for £9.99)

Yes, it's exactly what it says on the tin; a nice pair on a super good looking tumbler.

3. GAME BOY NIGHT LIGHT
£11.99

I remember when my sister got her first gameboy, which I think was a birthday present from mum & dad when we (I) were hyper little beans who took after dad with our love for gaming. Ahhh, the good old days.

It's no surprise that I'd have a soft spot for this night light, which would make the perfect addition to a kiddies room (particularly if they hate sleeping in the dark like I did), or even better, a games room.

OH MY GOSH...

This next one is deadass my favourite of the bunch and they make me so excited to look at. Think classic telephone, with MAJOR colourpop...

4. NEON TELEPHONES
£49.99

5. SMARTPHONE PROJECTOR
£19.99

I am super intrigued about this one since the concept is so ingenius and I really really hope that this would be my generations answer to a new form of romantic creativity LOL.

Like, I can imagine it now... Love & Basketball; summer night in the back garden; blankets; projection onto the back of the shed... BOOM! Is this the new Netflix & chill? loool.

Anyway, I really ought to test this one out because I reckon if you can get your room dark enough and have free wall space, this would be AWESOME!

6. THE ILLUMIBOWL (FOR WHEN YOU HAVE TO GLOW IN THE NIGHT)

I've seen a few of these floating around the market over the past few years, but ended up buying the illumi- bath (don't quote me on the name, it was pretty much the same thing just for the bath).

If you know me, or scroll through this list long enough you'll figure that I have a little obsession with lighting...and in particular, neon lights. So it's no surprise that I'd find this little thang intriguing too...

The days of being rudely awoken by your bladder and having to wake yourself up even more by turning the bathroom light on are OVER!

This gadget is light sensitive so it will only turn on in the dark; and motion activated so that it will only light up when you walk into the bathroom at night.  GOALS!

7. THE BABY MOP

Mate, all I can say about this one is that it's better to train em young...and you can do exactly that with this state of the art baby mop suit.

Ever notice how one day your little bubba is slowly rocking backwards and forwards on the floor trying to do a little shuffle...and then all of a sudden they're out here cha-cha slidin'? Yeah, well, I am a huge fan of multi-purpose solutions and this little number will give your floor a little shine whilst providing EPIC entertainment!

8. RETURN OF THE TAM...AGOTCHI
£9.99

Well, actually, it's not quite a tamagotchi but it is a virtual pet and does what it says on the tin. Also, this one gives you the opportunity to be mum or dad to 32 different types of pets and the way everyone's popping out babies these days, I think I'll stick to a digital homey LOL.

9. COLOUR CHANGING PLANT POT
£14.99

Another fave of mine which I'll defo be swooping up is this colour changing plant pot. I'm about to get my plants LIT!

10. KIIPIX INSTANT PHOTO PRINTER
£39.99

This is deadass the perfect gift for someone like me who was last week contemplating purchasing a Polaroid camera for way above the cost of this printer. This little bad boy turns your smartphone pics into vintage memories by transforming images into physical prints.

Btw, this would be perfect at parties or events where you'd send your guests home with goody bags or to clip as decorations around the photobooth to add to the overall decor. Also perfect for hanging on a wire board in your bedroom or home office.

11. SUPER MARIO "TOAD" LIGHT
£14.99

Awww, I actually LOVE this! Super Mario Kart was the sickest game back in the day (and is possibly still up there with the rest of em) so this was always going to make its way onto the list. I'd quite like to see a light from the rest of the characters too...Yoshi and Bowser to be precise. But I love the vibrant vibes that TOAD is bringing to scene.

12. KONSTRUKTOR DIY SLR CAMERA
£39.99

Another sick invention (if it's actually good quality) is this DIY SLR camera by Lomography. Guys, I have to put it out there... this is digital x physical innovation at its finest.

I've read some of the reviews about this and the general feedback is that this is DOPE! The DIY kit contains everything you need to build and decorate the camera including sticky back leather patches and a vinyl sticker sheet to truly make the Konstruktor your own.

13. HELLO NEON LIGHT
£39.99

Yes, another Neon light (and I'm so sorry but it isn't the last). I've seen this one featured across insta and pinterest and always wondered where it retailed...and I know!

14. DODOW SLEEP LIGHT
£44.99

"The Dodow is a metronome with a light system that basically retrains that silly ol’ brain of yours to fall asleep naturally, without taking any pills or needing overpriced lavender pillow spray." - Firebox

Apparently over 150,000 people use this already and the
exercise lasts between the option of either 8 or 20 minutes (your choice, obvs) and then it switches itself off once complete.

15. MAGNETIC EYELASHES
£17.99 (CURRENTLY £11.99)

I don't even know what to say about these ones you know. On one hand, I am all the way here for these because everyone and their mama knows that me and false eyelashses do not agree... (think lashes hanging off mid-conversation without realising). But on the other hand, I am also not the biggest fan of lashes in general.

Anyway, for anyone who is curious (I totally am), these magnetic eyelashes take less than 20 seconds to apply and are also reusable.

"They connect via the super discreet magnets on the ends which are tucked out of the way for zero pinching, you can’t even tell they’re there. The maker of these lifesavers says they take 20 seconds to apply but we reckon it’s probably half that once you get the knack. "- Firebox

And that concludes my little list of current fave gadgets. Which was your favourite? I am sticking by my fave being the neon telephone and I'll be bringing this into my little abode very soon.

If you know of any other sites that sell super cool gadgets like these drop it below so that we can check it out!

Enjoy the rest of your week.
