DRESSING MYSELF HAPPY IN THE COLOUR YELLOW

This year I’ve pretty much ditched the dark side and stepped into the light by making some brighter, bolder fashion choices when it comes to colour and let me tell you, I have no regrets. I’ll be the first to admit that 2014 me couldn’t imagine anything worse than wearing such vibrant, bold prints and I’m trying to remember whether this was because blacks and darks have always been staples to me, or whether they were a sign of unhappier times…

I mean, when I’m in such a fantastic mood and deciding what to wear for the day, anything dark just really doesn’t appeal to me anymore. I want to be LOUD and colour proud! That said, I started the month by doing exactly that in one of my most FAVOURITE colours ever… Yellow.

According to Color psychology, some colours are capable of evoking certain moods and may even have an influence over behavior and well-being, but as usual, I like to experience these things myself because I’m a massive believer that there’s no “one size fits all” approach that can be applied to anything in life, regardless of what it is or how popular/ sucessful it is with larger populations. Of course, my own findings were in COMPLETE support of this as I have often found that on days where I wear vibrant colours I am usually feeling more aligned in mind, body & spirit and my mood is just generally beautiful and more harmonious. But don’t be concerned if you see me ditching the bolds for neutrals, black will always hold a special place in my heart.

THE COLOUR YELLOW

Generally, these are the feelings that I envoke when wearing the colour yellow or decorating with it, though I know lots of others who experience other feelings from the colour, so it’s important to note that colour theory and its application in terms of health & wellbeing isn’t universal!

But in light of summer and the feelings of joy I’ve experienced this year despite the pandemic, here are some glory shots of me in my happy colour.
